Role of the Group

The Education Committee provides a parent perspective on education. Parents can ask this group to explore issues that are of interest to them and put forward ideas and policies for consideration by the staff and Governing Council.
For example:

  • How much homework should children have?
  • What are the best iPad Apps for parents to buy to support literacy development?
  • How should maths achievement be reported to parents?
  • When should interviews occur?
  • closely looks at the school's site plan and invites parent feedback into its development.
  • plans inservice sessions to ensure that parents are well informed about school programs and educational trends and understand how they can support their children's learning.

This group also:
